Recover the blocked item

Do not bypass a blocker by changing an unrelated state.

  1. 1Open the blocked item or surface.
  2. 2Read the blocker and identify the named prerequisite.
  3. 3Correct the context, approval, channel, offer, or schedule issue it identifies.
  4. 4Return to the item and confirm that the next intended action is available.
  5. 5Keep the item held when the prerequisite is still incomplete.

Handle common blockers

Escalate without overclaiming

Separate a product limitation from a temporary item blocker.

  • Use Capability limits when the requested provider behavior is not supported.
  • Use Troubleshooting when the current product state does not match the documented path.
  • Do not claim a failed provider readback means the content was not delivered.
  • Do not remove approval or security checks to clear a blocker.
